YBC Principal

As I step into this school year as principal of our YBC campus, I’m filled with gratitude and excitement. To help guide me, I created a vision board that illustrates my goals and hopes for the year ahead. Each piece represents a part of the journey I look forward to taking alongside our students, staff, and families.

1. Building on a Strong Foundation – As I join this campus, my first goal is to honor and maintain the strong culture and team environment that has existed for years.

2. Focusing on Needs First – Using Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs as a guide, my focus is on learning about our school community while ensuring that the most essential needs are met first, so we can continue to grow and thrive together.

3. A New Adventure with Young Learners – After 16 years of working with older students, I am thrilled to return to TK–2nd grades. I look forward to the joy, curiosity, and wonder this age group brings.

4.Commitment to Safety – Our campus is still new to us, and I plan to strengthen safety procedures and preparedness to ensure a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for everyone.

5. Family as My Anchor – A photo of my family reminds me daily of my “why.” They keep me grounded and bring me joy, and I hope to foster that same sense of belonging and happiness within our school family.

I am extremely excited about the 2025-2026 school year.  This year our staff are visualizing our goals and vision for our year with a vision board.  My vision and goals for this year include:

1. Developing the new ILCS property for a new school site.

2. "Attacking the Wake" or taking on challenges with passion and a renewed healthy mindset.

3. Implementing our Collaboration initiative in all of our classrooms as a 21st Century Skill for students.

4. Mentoring and coaching new administrative staff and key positions.

5. Improving our math scores in all grade levels.

6. Actively loving and caring for my own family amidst an intense work life.

I am excited to serve the student services team again for the 2025/2026 school year. It is my vision to better equip students with disabilities and all students with the skills needed to grow academically, to lead my team members into a deeper commitment here at ILCS, and to care for my family at home. I am honored to continue to serve all students through each of these goals:

1. Increase academic proficiency for students with disabilities

2. Target both basic and complex reading skills through specially designed instructional practices
